Going to a West Ham game but not actually watching.
I went for a piss yesterday on the 70th min mark and there was about 50 people standing there having a chat and a beer.

Don’t get me wrong I love a slurp but couldn’t believe so many people were not watching the game. I’d understand if we was 3 0 down but we were winning.

Anyone do this?

We were part of that 50 and they were showing the game live on the screen.

Also, nice bloke serving behind the bar was still passing us a few beers throughout the second half

It was the final straw Bob... funnily enough there have been plenty on here (WHO) who called it a day because

a) The Football was shit

b) The manager was shit

c) The owners was shit

d) The (NEW) stadium IS shit

So I'm not alone... I done my penance for 35+ years ... when I thought it was worth it... now days?? naaaah... I'll pass it on to the rest of you... enjoy

Last season I had a ST after Christmas I think we only made it into the ground for about 3 games… the rest of the time we just carried on boozing in either the Central or in the Earl… in our defence it was when Uncle Avram was in charge… anyway made my mind up not to renew the next season especially with the Walrus in charge…

Mate I used to go with early 90’s used to fuck off at Half time almost every game… the problem being that the majority of times he had the fucking whip money !!

Done it quite a few times over there. Depends if you get the taste and get on it, missing some of the game in the process.

Old bloke who sits near me at the T20 always fucks off in the last over when the game is close. Think he must have a dodgy ticker.

Can't understand paying good money for football and not watching. If I need a piss bad I can usually boil it. Difficult in cold weather though.

Mr kenzo.

I went to that and must admit I missed quite a lot of the football.

I went to the Schalke tournament a few years back and hardly saw a ball get kicked. Still had a fantastic time out there

Real 'Am watch the away fans all game, hurling obscenities and bottles of piss.

I knew one daft bint who bought a ST just so she could watch the games in the concourse.

andy - It's not cool to go football and actually watch the football, you don't know that? The coolest of cool people are the bods that don't leave the boozer at all.

I once knew someone that went all the way to Sunderland when we were playing up there and just stayed in pub all day.

“I went to games for the event and to meet up with my West Ham family rather than act like a Sky TV groupie fawning over the latest overpaid mercenary“

Fucking hell the things you learn on this site. Just to be clear, because I choose to ACTUALLY WATCH THE FUCKING FOOTBALL when I go to West Ham it makes me a Sky TV, post 96-er wanker? Good lord. I need to brush up on what the pwoppa fans do these days because I’m clearly way off the mark.

If you’re that desperate for a pint and a chat, go to Alcoholics Anonymous on a Tuesday night. Plenty of people there that would be up for it.

What gets me, is the cunts wanting to film every set piece really grates on me.

Mobile phones should be banned in stadiums only used for an emergency.

There has always been people in the bar during a game, it's hardly a new thing. It's nice and you get peace and quiet and get can get served quickly.

Leaving 10 mins early probably saves some people an hour on their journey, so I make them right, especially if they're up early for work.

Would it help if they played the 2nd half first?
